HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT PROGRAM?

Atlas Citizenship will guide you through this process.  We offer free consultations in which you’ll understand what Government Programs are available and the differences between each with respect to cost, timelines, mobility, requirements and more.  The decision will be yours once we have discussed the needs of you, your family and business if applicable and budget.

HOW DO I PICK A PROPERTY FOR THE REAL ESTATE OPTION?

Atlas  Citizenship has business relationships with various developers and real estate agents in the countries we offer Citizenship and Residency by Investment services in.  We are knowledgeable in the markets we deal with and are happy to assist you.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CITIZENSHIP AND RESIDENCY?

Citizenship is the status of a person recognized under the custom or law as being a legal member of a sovereign state or belonging to a nation.  A citizen of a country is someone with all the social and political rights of that particular country.  Citizenship tends to be lifelong and irrevocable even if obtained through investment.

Residency is the act of establishing and maintaining residence in a particular place for a specified amount of time.  Permanent residency is indefinite.  Residency usually allows a person access to that country’s healthcare system and way of life but often does not afford other privileges such as voting in the political system, etc.

IS DUAL CITIZENSHIP 100% LEGAL?

Dual Citizenship is legal.  A small handful of nations, however, do not allow their citizens to be citizens of other countries and may revoke citizenship if it is revealed that dual or multiple citizenships are held.

IN WHICH CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD MY APPLICATION BE REJECTED?

The most clear cut example of why your application would be rejected is if you lie or omit information on your application.  Other examples are if you are suspected or wanted for a serious crime such as money laundering or terrorism.

WILL I GET A REFUND IF I AM NOT APPROVED?

The investment amount is only paid once you obtain Government approval.  In some programs, a deposit on real estate is required before submitting your application.  This will be refunded if you are rejected.

Due diligence fees are not refundable and must be paid before submitting your application.  Typical costs for due diligence are a few thousand dollars or euros per family member.  These fees are paid to Due Diligence agencies for background checks.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?

Each program has their own processing times.  Typical processing times are 3-6 months.  Certain programs may take as little as 1-2 months, a few may take 6-8 months.  Processing times are determined by the respective Government programs.  In some instances, an extra fee determined by the Government will expedite processing but in no way guarantees approval.

DO I HAVE TO LIVE IN MY NEW COUNTRY OF CITIZENSHIP OR RESIDENCY?

The Citizenship by Investment Programs do not require residency in that country.  Some may require a visit for a specified number of days within a certain timeframe.  Some residency programs do require that you spend at least half the year in your new country of residence.  Please contact us for information on each program or visit the Programs page.

CAN MY CHILDREN AND PARENTS GET THE CITIZENSHIP TOO?

Yes.  Your children and parents can apply for citizenship on the same application.  Each country has certain age criteria and how they determine dependent status.  Some countries may not allow children above the age of 21 or parents below the age of 65.
