COUNTRY PROFILE

Antigua, Barbuda, and Redonda along with a few smaller islands form the independent nation of Antigua and Barbuda, which comprise part of the British Commonwealth of Nations. They make up a portion of the Leeward Islands in the West Indies. Antigua and Barbuda became an independent nation in 1981.  Despite its independence, the country’s governance, language, and culture remain largely influenced by the British Empire.

Antigua and Barbuda is one of the Caribbean’s most prosperous nations largely in part to its tourism industry and offshore financial services. Tourism generates roughly 60% of the island’s income, with key markets being from the U.S., Canada and Europe.  Known as the “Land of 365 Beaches”, the nation is surrounded by beautiful beaches and coastline.   Visitors flock to the islands every year for its’ reef-lined beaches, rainforests and resorts.

SECOND CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT

The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) was established by the Honourable Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda.   The unit is the Government authority responsible for processing all applications for Citizenship by Investment by applicants and their families.

Antigua and Barbuda’s Citizenship by Investment program has one of the lowest fee structures for families.  Visa free travel to Hong Kong, Singapore, U.K. and the Schengen Area are just some of the benefits.  The passport will be valid for a period of 5 years and is renewblel subject to the recipient having spent a total of 5 days in Antigua and Barbuda, since gaining citizenship, within the 5 year period.
